The United States of America has been hit by one of the
biggest storms to ever descend on the country,Superstorm Sandy, with
major disasters recorded in the cities of New York and Long Island. The
storm which hit the mainland at 6.30pm local time yesterday has left a
major parts of the cities under water. Millions of people on the East Coast are
said to be facing fallen trees and widespread power outages caused by the giant
storm, which swamped New York City’s subway system and submerged streets in
Manhattan’s financial district.

Obama camp releases 'Promises Kept' video
In anticipaton of Obama's speech tonight, the Democrats have
released a video called "Promises Kept" which uses clips from the
president's 2008 speech to demonstrate how he has kept his promises.
The video highlights Obama signing 18 tax cuts, creating 4.5
million private-sector jobs, ending the war in Iraq and signing the Lilly
Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

Fear Of A Black President
The Atlantic:
As a candidate, Barack Obama said we needed to reckon with
race and with America's original sin, slavery. But as our first black
president, he has avoided mention of race almost entirely. In having to be
"twice as good" and "half as black," Obama reveals the
