Nigeria: Suspect Accuses Police Man of Joining in the Lynch of #Aluu4



More revelations are emerging on how four University of Port Harcourt undergraduates were killed as a suspect in custody, David Ugbaje, Tuesday accused a policeman of participating in the lynching of the deceased.

He said the policeman joined the mob in the killing of the four students at Omuokiri, Aluu, in Rivers State on October 5.

Nigeria: Lagos Teachers Begin Strike Today



Teachers in Lagos state public primary and secondary schools have begun their statewide strike action today.

In a press briefing by the state chairman of Nigerian Union of Teachers, Comrade Samson Kayode Idowu, the teachers vowed to go ahead with the strike since the state government had failed to hearken to their demands.

Nigeria: Ex-Minister Arrested Over Oil Theft



Former Minister of Interior and chairman of Integrated Oil and Gas Limited Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho has been arrested over allegations linking his company oil theft, according to Channels Television news monitored last night in Abuja. The former minister is said to be in the custody of the State Security Service (SSS), but this could not be confirmed last night as calls put through the SSS spokeswoman Marylin Ogar.

Nigerians Surprised Over Lifting of Dana Airline Ban



Nigerians were surprised when the Federal Government, on Tuesday, September 4, announced the lifting of the suspension on the flight operations of Dana Airlines. Coming exactly 93 days after its Flight 992 crashed in Iju-Ishaga on the outskirts of metropolitan Lagos, with all 153 on board and another six on ground killed in a tragedy officially tagged the worst airline accident this year worldwide, mixed reactions were bound to follow in its wake, and they did.
