Ugandan Lawmaker calls for Life Imprisonment of Homosexuals in Every African Country


In many African countries, it is illegal to be gay. 25 out of 38 African nations have passed laws that give varying degrees of prison sentences to people caught practicing homosexual acts. In Nigeria, a 14-year jail term is prescribed for convicted offenders under the Same Sex Marriage (prohibition) bill which was passed into law in 2011.

Nigeria and the United Kingdom have reached an understanding to begin a prison swap programme. This would be launched as soon as Nigeria signs its Prison Act into law.

FCT to demolish estates along Airport Road



The department of development control, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, says it will soon beging the demolition of illegal estates along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road, Abuja.

It accused some estate developers of building along the road with backdated allocation documents in spite  of the notices issued to them.

As October 1 approaches, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY.
I have enormous tracts of land and vast volumes of water, but cannot feed myself.
So I spend $1 billion to import rice and another $2 billion on milk.
I produce rice, but don’t eat it. I have millions of cows but no milk.
I am 52, please celebrate me.

Top ten private jets owned by wealthy Nigerians: how much they cost


More exciting revelations have emerged that the penchant for private jets acquisition has cost wealthy Nigerians over N1 trillion in five years. The luxury trend actually rose by 650% between 2007 and 2012, this has increased the rate of private jet acquisition from 20 in 2007 to over 150 in 2012 which has placed Nigeria  and china as the fastest growing private jets markets in the world.

Some interesting statistics on the usage of power generating sets in Nigeria has been revealed by the Director-General of Centre for Management Development, Dr Kabir Usman.

According to him, about 60 million Nigerians spend N1.6 trillion on generators annually.

What Rick Ross’ “Hold me back” video tells the world about Nigeria


Minutes after the online release of the Nigerian version of Rick Ross’ “Hold me Back” video, Nigerians on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have since rained curses and insults on the rapper for his audacity at showing Nigeria in its poorest and most ghetto form. The video starts with commentary about the Biafra war and then launches into a series of clips shot at different poor areas of Lagos State with scores of Nigerians chanting along the chorus with him. There is even a clip of Rick Ross handing dollar bills to poor children who race through the dirty slum waters to grab a note as he races off in his speed boat.
